Winmed 5 Pro VP (together with the Galileo Target or DGT devices) represents, nowadays, the easiest tecnology to make the simulation of dental implants placement in stone models of the patients, without external services but only with your dental lab collaboration. A great effort has been dedicated to the maintenance of compatibility with a number of different instruments using Dicom standard. Surgisystems WINMED 5 application is divided in Winmed 5 Free version and Winmed 5 Pro VP (visual plan) version. Winmed 5 Free version is free of charge software (after registration - Click here  for more information- you will be able to dowload it).

Utilising TC data, WINMED 5 Free is an essential "viewer and implant planner" software which aims to help odontologists and dental surgeons in the visualisation of dental implants and anatomical structures.

WINMED features a wide number of different options, including real-time personalised reconstruction of trans-axial sections, virtual panoramic view and real-time RAY-TRACING 3D rendering of patient's jaw and dental structures.

WINMED and its future evolutions purpose is to provide a valid support to the pre-surgical engineering process used to create dental implants. To achieve this Surgisystems has devoted its development time to develop a powerful program yet very user-friendly. We believe we achieved our target creating a tool where users have access to powerful functionalities integrated in a very intuitive user interface. The interface employs a small number of commands through which user have great control of all input/output data and all this without the need of browising complicated menu overpopulated of options.

Most of the complex elaborations are completely transparent to the user, so that user can stay focused on the core information and achieve her/his goals in a few mouse clicks. Surgisystems is planning to extend the program functionalities for the near future and you are more than welcome to use our on-line feedback page. Any suggestions, questions and features request (that you would like to see included in our product) are welcomed.

WINMED is a good tool to keep the patient informed on the evolution of a of his/her clinic case and can be used to motivate and prepare the patient to the surgical operation as he/she will have the opportunity to observe his/her real anatomic conditions. On the other hand, for the odontologist it will be much easier to plan the surgical path and accurately explain pros and cons of the therapy, as well as suggest any further operation that may be required in some areas. This will allow to achieve a long waited result: the positioning of dental implants in a practical, safe and quick way (including flapless or immediate load of temporary dental prosthesis, wherever it will be possible).

As a consequence of the prosthetic guided plan, we can list the following advantages:

  • Surgical advantages: a reduced operation time, lowering stress on both the patient and the operator, as well as a reduced post operation recovery time. The highly accurate 3D representation prevents the intervention from surgical errors and potential injuries to important anatomic structures.
  • Biomechanical advantages: optimised position of the implant on both the bone structure and the prosthetic elements to be built on.
  • Structural advantages: semplified lab phases and reduced time on the sampling outpatient sessions, which translate into a reduced costs for the patient.
  • Aesthetic and hygienic: perfectly positioned implants allow to obtain the best aesthetic results in terms of emergency profiles. This also semplifies any successive hygienic interventions, as cleansing spaces are accurately calculated.

Our final goal is to offer to the surgeons an invaluable tool through which it will be possibile to create pre-surgical implants manufacturing high accuracy templates. This device Galileo Target (patented) and DGT was been engineered in collaboration and built by a Company leader in mechanical instrumentation and in high precision measurament devices: Artiglio-Italia (Parma).
